FAQ

RSS feed FAQ

What is an RSS feed?+

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a standard format that websites use to publish updates. Most news sites, blogs, and content platforms offer RSS feeds. When you subscribe to an RSS feed, you automatically receive new articles as they are published, without visiting each site manually.

How do I find the RSS feed URL for a website?+

Most websites have their RSS feed at /feed, /rss, or /atom.xml. You can also look for an RSS icon on the site, check the page source for feed links, or search "[website name] RSS feed" in Google. GenerateBot accepts any valid RSS or Atom feed URL.

Does RSS feed monitoring cost credits?+

No. Fetching, filtering, and managing RSS feeds is completely free and consumes zero credits. Credits are only used when you generate content (posts, videos, articles) from the feed articles.

How many feeds can I monitor?+

You can submit up to 50 feed URLs per API request and save unlimited feed URLs to your profile. Add as many sources as you need to build a comprehensive content pipeline for your niche.

What is digest mode?+

Digest mode groups articles from your feeds by topic and generates summarized overviews. Instead of individual posts for each article, you get curated roundups that combine multiple sources into cohesive content pieces. Great for weekly newsletters and industry updates.

Can I use the RSS feed reader with the API?+

Yes. The RSS API supports fetching feeds (POST /api/v1/rss), listing saved feeds (GET /api/v1/rss), updating saved feeds (PUT /api/v1/rss), and clearing feeds (DELETE /api/v1/rss). Full documentation is available in the API docs.

What feed formats are supported?+

GenerateBot supports RSS 2.0, Atom, and most standard XML feed formats. This covers the vast majority of feeds published by news sites, blogs, podcasts, and content platforms.

Can I combine RSS monitoring with news intelligence?+

Yes. RSS feeds and GenerateBot's built-in news monitoring (1,000+ sources) work together. Use news intelligence for broad coverage and RSS feeds for specific sources you want to track closely.
